Jesus E. Garcia Aguillon

Hello everyone, my full name is Jesus Esteban Garcia Aguillon but you can address me as Mr. Garcia! I am very excited to be here at Wilderness Oak Elementary and this is my first year teaching! I was born in the city of Matamoros, Mexico but grew up in Brownsville, Texas for most of my life. I even lived for a couple of years in the city of Monterrey, Mexico. I attended the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley from 2018 to 2022 where I received my Bachelor's of Music with Teacher Certification EC-12, with my concentration being voice. Back in Brownsville, I worked at Little Mozart's Music Academy for 4 years where I gave voice and piano lessons to children and teens alike.

I am a huge sports fan, and I especially love basketball, football and soccer. My favorite teams include the San Antonio Spurs (obviously!), the Baltimore Ravens and Manchester United. I am also starting to get into bowling and I am looking forward to joining a league one day! I also love anime and manga and I love to analyze musical scores, especially classical and romantic music. As a vocalist, I absolutely love to hear and sing German lieder and Italian arias from the likes of Robert Schumann, Franz Schubert, G.F. Handel, Puccini, Verdi and much more!

My goal is to share my passion for music with my students and have them learn about music through fun activities and games. My goal is to be a teacher that students can look up to, just like my mentor teachers were throughout my academic career and have inspired me to be as helpful and caring as them.
