Hello! My name is Mrs. Hester and I am a 5th grade teacher at Wilderness Oak. I am so excited to work with our Wolves as we build upon the knowledge and skills they have gained throughout elementary school and lay a solid foundation for the years ahead. Fifth grade is such a fun and pivotal year! 

I was born and raised in San Antonio and was fortunate to attend some wonderful NEISD schools myself! I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin - Hook 'Em Horns! This will be my sixth year in education, all at Wilderness Oak. I love the students, staff, and families that we have here in the Wilderness. My son will be a sixth grader attending Lopez Middle School this year, and he attended WO from kindergarten through 5th grade. We have such a special learning community here!

I am passionate about creating an environment where all students feel welcome, safe, and cared for so that they can grow and learn. Every day when I arrive at school, and again when I leave for the day, I am grateful and honored to have the privilege of working with the children in our community. 

I am looking forward to a wonderful school year in 2024-25!
