Driscoll Middle School students made no-sew blankets and donated them to the Animal Defense League. They wanted to make sure the animals there were warm while they wait to find their “fur” ever families.
“We decided on this project because it is something the students can do during the school day that they can work on together and see the immediate results,” said teacher Ashli Andersen. “The PTA donated the fabric, and we thought it would be a great way to help animals in need. It is something small we can do that will make a big difference.”
The students who made the blankets are taking Driscoll’s new Teen Leadership Class as an elective this year. The group has already painted kindness rocks and made posters to support student-athletes, and once a week, they volunteer in the ALE classroom to help other students.
