  • 2024 Spinal Screenings are November 6!

This spinal screening is for 5th grade girls. Female RN's plan to come 11/6/2024 to complete the screening first thing in the morning. Please reach out for any questions. You can send a note for any exemptions:

Parent Request - A student’s parent/legal guardian may execute an affidavit stating that spinal screening will be conducted by an individual other than the screener used by the school.

Religious Exemption - A student is exempt from screening if the screening conflicts with the tenets and practices of a recognized church or religious denomination of which the individual is an adherent or member. The parent/guardian must submit to the school an affidavit in lieu of the screening records stating the conflict. The affidavit must be submitted on or before the date spinal screening is scheduled. Document the religious exemption in the narrative section of the health record.

  • Greetings from the Clinic!

State-required screenings are starting soon for Hearing, Vision, and Acanthosis Nigricans (we just look at the back of the neck for discoloration, a potential indicator of pre-diabetes). Students included are Pre K, Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade, and any students new to the district. We hope to complete most of these the week of September 30th. Please encourage your student(s) to bring any glasses/contacts if they use them. If you would like to opt-out, please submit it in writing.

     Thanks!

  • If your student has an elevated temperature (100.0 degrees Fahrenheit or higher) or diarrhea (3 loose stools in 24 hours), the Student Handbook and Texas DSHS requires the student to stay home until they have been fever/diarrhea free without use of medication for at least 24 hours.

Rashes that could be potentially contagious are required to be resolved or cleared by a healthcare provider to attend school.

If your student is having drainage and inflammation of the eye, please also have your student return when symptoms have resolved or whenever a healthcare provider states they can return to school.

Please call us for any specific questions, and we everyone feels better soon!
