LEE Volunteers are walking the walk

LEE students and coaches pack food bank boxes

The Volunteers are walking the walk at LEE High School!

Students chipped in during the monthly San Antonio Food Bank Distribution event. They packed boxes assembly line style and loaded groceries into cars, serving hundreds of families. The partnership began in January, and has grown each month.

It takes a village to serve a community. The North East ISD Family Engagement Liaisons do so much to serve our families and arrange partnerships like this with the SA Food Bank. This event is a collaboration between our MacArthur and Legacy of Educational Excellence (LEE) High School Family Engagement Liaisons.

Melissa Castillo-Cerda is the Family Engagement Liaison at LEE. Seeing students, staff and community partners come together to serve a greater purpose makes it all worth it.

“It’s a blessing to be able to provide for our community like this,” said Castillo-Cerda. “I love seeing the kids get involved in giving back.”

At NEISD, you don’t have to go through life’s challenges alone. Our Family Engagement Liaisons are available to offer support and guidance. Learn more here.
