Mrs. Linda King
I am excited to be teaching the curious and energetic students here at Coker ES school. This is my 8th year teaching here, at Coker, and my 20th year teaching elementary school overall. I was born, raised, and educated in New York. I have a bachelor's in Education from Adelphi University & my master's degree from Queens College. I also have ESL and Gifted and Talented certifications. While all subjects interest me, my favorites are math, science and health. I enjoy learning new things and continue to expand my own horizons through reading, in-service courses and the pursuit of new educational experiences.
I was married on 'tax day,' April 15,1989. My husband, Jonathan, is a biology professor at Trinity University. We have two daughters, the eldest is a senior in college and the younger attends Churchill HS. My dad lives with us, so our home is a 3 generation home. We have a dog, Bolt, who we rescued from the Humane Society twelve years ago.
My goal is to guide children to academic success, prepare them to be life-long learners and readers, and develop a joy for learning. I look forward to working with you this year. Please feel free to contact me at any time.
