"They treat me like I’m part of the team.”

Jerry Call holds the NEISD way sign with text and logo

Jerry Call has always loved being called “coach” by his students. As a North East ISD substitute, he still hears ‘Coach Call’ in the hallways at MacArthur High School

“I enjoy coming here every day. They treat me like I’m part of the team.”

Call is a retired educator with more than 30 years of experience, with 20 coming from NEISD at Ed White Middle School

“I started subbing because I missed being around the kids and the coaches,” said Call. “My kids went to school at MacArthur, and we had a great experience. I love coming here because I know everybody, and the coaches treat me like I’m one of them.”

Call is a treasured member of the team at MacArthur. We could not do this job without people like him. Please join us in thanking Call and all of our amazing substitute teachers on Substitute Educators Day!
