Ms. Helga L. Meza

¡Hola a todas las familias y compañeros de ETH! This is my 2nd year in NEISD as Bilingual Instructional Coach after 19 years in education as a PK-4th bilingual/dual language classroom teacher. I'm very excited to be back in the district where I got my middle and high school education. I graduated from ISA in 1998 and before that I attended Garner MS.

I was born and raised in Mexico City and my family moved to San Antonio in 1991 when I was 11 years old. I'm fully bilingual and I love to work with bilingual and bicultural families like mine. Before I took a leadership role as a Bilingual IC, I got a lot of experience as a classroom teacher at grade levels from PK to 4th grade. I've also worked in several school districts, such as SAISD and Alamo Heights ISD. My love for higher education also encouraged me to work in Upward Bound at Trinity University, where I was an administrative intern and dorm room RA for various summers.

My Bilingual Instructional Coach role includes working on compliance paperwork for emergent bilinguals and English proficient students in dual language classrooms on our campus. I work on recruitment for our dual language classrooms and I help with registration paper work for those students. I'm also in charge of Tier 3 intervention for several grade levels, as well as dyslexia services in Spanish for several students.

I look forward to working with the community and families of the East Terrell Hills area! Any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
