Dr. Ross McGlothlin
I truly love my job serving as your child’s principal at our very special school- East Terrell Hills Elementary.
I was born in Houston, though I have lived in San Antonio for more than 20 years. My mother was an elementary school teacher, and my father was a middle school principal. I followed in their footsteps; the 2024-2025 school year will be my twenty-ninth year in Education. I have taught at the elementary and middle school levels, and I am entering my eighteenth year as a principal, the last six of which have been at East Terrell Hills.
I earned Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Education degrees from Texas A&M University, and a Master of School Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
My family is the sunshine of my life. My wife Violeta is originally from Monterrey, Nuevo León, México. She teaches and choreographs Modern and Contemporary dance. We have two boys aged ten and eight. We enjoy doing things together outdoors, and we drive to Monterrey at least twice each year to visit Violeta’s family. I am a fan of the Texas A&M Aggies, the Houston Texans, the Houston Astros, and for futbol, El Tri and Los Tigres de Monterrey. I am not fluent in Spanish, but I can communicate fairly well in most situations and am always trying to improve with the help of my wife, our boys, and the teachers/staff, students, and parents of East Terrell Hills.
I am a strong proponent of Texas Public Schools, Equity, Social Justice, Inclusivity, and Bilingual Education. I believe the foundational work of elementary schools is key to young people having a wider range of experiences and choices in life. In elementary schools, we establish pathways for future successes. It is my opinion that teachers hold the most important job in our society. It is a fact that parents are their child’s first and most important teachers. We, the East Terrell Hills Elementary teachers and support staff, do our best work when we form strong partnerships with our school’s parents/guardians. We need your help to produce positive academic and social outcomes for your children. Visitors are always welcome on our campus. We sincerely value our partnership with you!

Mrs. Rose Mary Garcia
I’m Rose Mary Garcia, and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal at East Terrell Hills Elementary.
I was born and raised in San Antonio and a graduate of Harlandale High School. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Bilingual Education from Texas A&M University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from UTSA. I am about to embark on my 15th year in education.
My parents were born and raised in a rural town in Zacatecas, Mexico. They have instilled humble values in me that guide my passion for education and appreciation for every opportunity I encounter.
Now, I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and community of East Terrell Hills with the values I have learned throughout my life.
I have always loved school and education because I always felt at home and now love to create that for others. I also believe that knowledge is power and, when provided with knowledge, guidance, and respect, students can achieve all their goals.
