Mrs. Jennifer Coles
I love teaching 5th grade at East Terrell Hills Elementary School! Each child in my classroom is important to me. I truly enjoy getting to know and helping each student in my class grow and learn. Fifth grade is a pivotal year. Students become more independent. They start focusing on their peers more. They are at a fantastic age to develop their interests deeper. It is going to be a great year!
I strongly believe that partnering with parents is imperative to a successful year. I am always open to emails with questions and concerns. I like to provide frequent communication with parents. I look forward to working closely with the parents of my students. We can make a bigger difference together.
Education/experience and why I became a teacher - I received a bachelor’s in Psychology at Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi. After working a few years as a sub while getting my bachelors, I decided that my true passion was in the classroom. I have always felt I had a gift and desire for teaching others and truly enjoy seeing people learn. I attended Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi to receive my master’s degree in Education. I then returned to school to get my administrator’s certificate and became the assistant principal at my last campus. I have been in the education world for over 10 years. Since I have taught grades 1st & 5th, I have a strong understanding of foundational skills and the skills coming up. I love the community and the students! Together we will grow in tomorrow's future!
