NESA's magnet majors are designed to nurture student passion while advancing their academic knowledge of performing arts. With immersive, specialized coursework and opportunities to apply learning, NESA prepares students to become innovative creative leaders shaping the future of the arts.

  • NESA students also participate in master classes and seminars with professional artists, engage in many enrichment activities, and have multiple opportunities to showcase their talents. Students are accepted for the NESA program through an application and formal audition process. All students currently in grades 8-10 from San Antonio and the surrounding area may apply to audition. Seven majors are offered at NESA: Cinema, Creative Writing, Dance, Instrumental Music, Musical Theater, Technical Theater, and Visual Art.
