Ms. Ashley Anguiano

Dyslexia Therapist, Regency Place Elementary

Hello Students and Parents! My Name Is Ashley Anguiano, the Dyslexia Therapist Here at the Castle! I Am so Happy to Welcome You to Our Amazing Dyslexia Squad!  It’s Going to Be a Fun Year Full of Exciting Adventures and Lots of Learning! I Can’t Wait to Learn All About You, but First ,I Would like to Share a Few Things About Myself.

I Was Born and Raised Right Here in San Antonio, Texas and Love This Amazing City! I Have Two Beautiful Daughters, Emmalie, a Sophomore at Macarthur Hs, and Mckenna, a Second Grader Right Here at Regency Place! We Also Have 2 Dogs; a Border Collie Named Whitney, and a Miniature Dachshund, Named Wesley… and Believe Me, My Fur Babies Are Just As Spoiled As My Girls!! I Also Have a Classroom Pet That My Students Just Love… She Is a Golden Strawberry Snow Corn Snake Named Opal.

I Graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with Both a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Literacy.  I Am Currently in the Final Stretch of Completing My Clinical Hours and Intensive Training to Become a Certified Academic Language Therapist (Calt)! This Year Will Mark My 12th Year of Teaching and My Second Year As a Dyslexia Therapist… Time Sure Flies When You’re Having Fun! I Have an Immense Passion for Teaching Children How to Read and Find Myself in This Amazing World of Dyslexia and Related Disorders Where I Have Found My True Calling! Unlike a Tutor or Interventionist, My Role As a Therapist Involves the True Re-wiring of Neural Pathways in the Brain for Reading Acquisition by Providing Diagnostic, Explicit, and Systematic Multisensory Structured Language Intervention That Builds a High Degree of Accuracy, Knowledge, and Independence!

My Goal As a Dyslexia Therapist Is Not Only to Help Your Child Become a Proficient and Confident Reader, but to Help Them Learn How to Advocate for Themselves Beyond My Classroom. I Truly Strive to Educate Parents About Dyslexia and Their Individual Child’s Needs so That They May Also Feel Confident in Their Efforts to Support and Advocate for Their Child!

The Relationship and Partnership We Build Will Have a Significant and Lasting Impact on Your Child’s Future! I Welcome You to Reach out to Me at Any Time! Thank You for Your Support and I Look Forward to Getting to Know You and Your Family!
