My name is Cecilia Yoon, and I am so excited to be joining the third grade team this year. This will be my thirteenth year of teaching. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to teach across multiple elementary grade levels in both public and private schools. Teaching is such a rewarding profession, and I am honored to continue my journey in education at Wilderness Oak!

I grew up in Vancouver, Canada. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from McGill University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Toronto. I moved to California to attend a graduate school, where I received a Master’s Degree in Cross-cultural Studies. I have recently finished writing a dissertation for a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Kansas. I believe in being a lifelong learner and look forward to bringing the best practices in education to my classroom.

My husband and I have two children, Nathan (12) and Karis (8). We moved to San Antonio last year and are so happy to have made our home here. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, going for walks, and spending quality time with my family and friends.

My goals as an educator are to have my students succeed to the best of their abilities and to inspire a love for learning in them. I am eager to work with each of my students and be part of their educational journey. It’s going to be a fantastic year!
