Howdy! My name is Jennifer Montemayor and this will be my 20th year of teaching. I graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2003 with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Early Childhood Education.  I started off my teaching career at Fox Run Elementary, where I taught kindergarten and first grade. I came to Bulverde Creek Elementary when it opened its doors and have been teaching kindergarten here ever since. In 2011, I was honored to be Bulverde Creek's nominee for the Trinity Prize for Excellence in Teaching, and in 2012, I was awarded the PTA Life Membership Award. In October of 2020, The New York Times recognized my work with Seesaw and interviewed me for their article on Seesaw's role in virtual learning. Most recently, I was named the 2022 Bulverde Creek Elementary Teacher of the Year.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling, watching football, crafting, and spending time with my family. I have two sweet morkies, (a mix of Maltese and Yorkshire terrier) Cooper and Piper, that I love and adore. 

Kindergarten is my passion and I am so thrilled to share my love of learning with your child. I believe in providing a nurturing and loving environment where my students feel safe and learning is fun. I look forward to a wonderful kindergarten year and I am excited to build and maintain a relationship with you and your family for years to come here at Bulverde Creek!
