Celebrating National Principals' Month #theNEISDway
“I’m honored to be a principal and a leader in NEISD.”
Coker Elementary School Principal Ashley Scott will never forget the day she got “the call.”
“I have so many fond memories, but receiving the phone call that I was the newly appointed principal at Coker is a big one,” said Scott. “My husband and I moved into the Coker attendance area 10 years ago because of the Coker, Bradley, Churchill pathway, and having my boys attend school with me is such a blessing.”
For Scott, North East ISD is more than family—it’s home. She attended Hidden Forest Elementary School, Eisenhower, and Bush middle schools and graduated from Reagan High School in 2003. In fact, her first teaching job was at Hidden Forest—the same school that provided her educational foundation.
“Having the opportunity to teach alongside some of my former teachers was incredible. I cherish my time as a teacher at Hidden Forest,” said Scott. “I have been an employee of our District since 2007 and take great pride in that. Supporting the students in our District, and watching the growth has been an incredible blessing in my life. I love getting to know families and building relationships with them throughout their years with NEISD! I’m honored to be a principal and a leader in NEISD.”
October is National Principals Month. It is a time to celebrate our administrators who work tirelessly to run our schools and support our students, staff, and families. For so many of them, their work is even more important because this isn’t just a job; it is their community.
If you want to thank your principal, we’ve made it easy. Give them a Staff Shout Out, and they will be notified how much they mean to you.
