It’s game on for this new Churchill teacher

Tristan holds the NEISD way sign with text and quote

First-year teacher Tristan Landrus can’t wait to meet his students at Churchill High School. He’ll be teaching Animation and Video Game design as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) course.

“I’m so excited,” said Landrus. “It’s really cool to be able to give a space to students who are interested in tech or video games. One of my goals is to eventually start an E-Sports team to create even more opportunities for these kids.”

The opportunities that Landrus will bring to his students will be anchored in his real-world experience. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge to offer thanks to his background working in cybersecurity and IT.

“I worked with USAA for a few years before I decided I wanted to do something more. I met with Mr. Bloomer, and Churchill was a perfect fit for me.”

Landrus will navigate his first year in the classroom with guidance from our First Year Teacher Academy. He’ll have a mentor teacher he can lean on all year while experiencing the many “firsts” that come with teaching.

There’s still time to join NEISD! We are hiring a variety of positions, from teachers to bus drivers, campus support staff and more. View available NEISD careers for more information and to apply today.
