Celebrating our 2023 Summa Cum Laude Students - Churchill High School

Churchill Summa Banner

North East ISD is proud to celebrate the Summa Cum Laude students at Churchill High School. These ceremonies honor the incredible accomplishments of the dedicated students who are graduating from high school with grade point averages above 100. These young men and women mastered every academic test we placed before them and exceeded the highest standards, but they wouldn’t be here without the teachers who inspired them.

Avery Maria Biasiolli is one of Churchill's exceptional Summa candidates. Tonight, she will honor Mr. John Caputo.

Tonight, I am honoring Mr. Caputo. The last four years that I’ve been taking euphonium lessons; I’ve learned not only how to be a good musician, but also valuable life skills. Mr. Caputo wasn’t only a teacher to me, but a role model. When I see his passion for music, I think of my passion for art. I hope that one day, I can be like him and inspire kids to seek a future doing what they love.

Thomas Francis Erwin, II is honoring his inspiration and father, Mr. Thomas Erwin.

Tonight, I am honoring my APUSH teacher and also my dad, Thomas Erwin. He has not only been a great teacher for one of my favorite classes but also a great role model and the best dad I could ask for. Whether it’s in the classroom or the pool I would not be where I am now without his constant support.

Congratulations to the Class of 2023!

Churchill's Summa celebration will be held 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2023
