“I get the best of both worlds here.”

Rebecca Juarez has done a lot of growing at Huebner Elementary School over the past 11 years. Not only is she a music teacher to hundreds of students, she’s also the Lead Elementary Music Coordinator for the Fine Arts department.

“North East ISD has given me opportunities not just to grow students, but to grow myself as a leader that has taken me to opportunities across the state and the nation. I'm so thankful to work for NEISD!”

As much as she loves her young students, she loves working with music teachers just as much.

“It’s like being a curriculum specialist but I’m still in the classroom at the same time,” said Juarez. “I mentor new teachers, host student teachers and present at workshops and state and national music conventions. It’s nice because I get the administrative and mentorship piece. But I could also teach music to four-year-olds all day. I get the best of both worlds here.”

At NEISD, Juarez doesn’t have to say no to new opportunities. There’s a support system within Huebner and Fine Arts that empowers her to make the most of every new opportunity.

“We have a really supportive community who values teachers and music and support us in any way we can. We have strong teachers here who care and help each other out. It’s a solid team.”

Thank you, Rebecca, for choosing to grow here in NEISD.
