B.A. in Elementary Education, Grades K-8
Mrs. Heather Herzog
I was raised in Iowa with my 4 siblings in a small tourist town. Then I moved to Cedar Falls, IA to begin college. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1999. Seeking a new adventure, I decided to move to this wonderful city and begin my teaching career. Camelot Elementary School was where it all began. I taught second, third, fourth grade from 2000 until 2007. During that time I adopted a cat, married my husband (who also teaches in NEISD) and brought two beautiful daughters into the world. My two daughters are very close in age, so I resigned in 2007 to be home with them as they experienced their "firsts".
In 2009, I was warmly welcomed back at Camelot to teach fifth grade for the next two years.
In 2011, I was given the opportunity to become the Instructional Intervention Teacher here at Camelot. ThIt has been a great experience working with teachers and students in a new way. I have learned so much about how students learn and struggle. It has given me an opportunity to show students how to work through their difficulties with reading. I enjoy watching children experience success and will continue to make a difference!
Our 2016-2017 school year marks my 15th year at Camelot!
Our daughters are now 11 and 9. When your children are young, even strangers will stop you and say, "They grow so fast," and they are so right! Time is flying and before we know it they will be off to college!
I enjoy family time, reading, swimming, and crafting from Pintrest (who doesn't!). To get away from these hot Texas summers, you might find me vacationing in new places and visiting my family in Iowa.
