Cell phones will not be allowed to be used or visible during the instructional day. Student cell phones will only be allowed at the teacher’s discretion.

Teachers have the discretion of giving a warning to students before confiscating a cell phone. If a cell phone is confiscated, it is to be turned into the Assistant Principal’s Office and logged in by the teacher (fill out the chart) at the next break from classroom instruction (conference period, lunch, or end of the day). The progression of discipline for cell phone violations is as follows:

• 1st Offense: call home and released to the student at end of the day
• 2nd Offense: parent pick up the next day and (1) detention
• 3rd Offense: parent pickup 5 days from date of confiscation and (2) detention
• 4th Offense: parent pickup at end of the semester and (3) detentions

All backpacks are acceptable as long as they are appropriate for school and do not contain any inappropriate content.
