About the Program

This program prepares students for entry-level employment in the electrical field or for a post-secondary degree in construction. Students gain knowledge and skills in safety, tool usage, residential wiring, commercial wiring, and motor controls.
Students are not required to participate for all four years; however, students who wish to pursue a career in the Electrical industry are encouraged to do so. Students must participate for two years to earn a Electrical Systems Business and Industry Endorsement.

Year 1 | This course provides an introduction and lays a solid foundation for those students entering the construction or craft skilled areas. The course provides knowledge of construction safety, construction mathematics, and common hand and power tools. This course is a hands-on approach that provides skill specific construction methods, and occupation skills to assist the student in obtaining and maintaining employment.
