Mrs. Wylie got married in March of 2018, changing her last name from McKinley to Wylie.
Mrs. Wylie started her teaching career at Barbara Bush Middle School where she taught 8th grade American History for three years.
When the opportunity opened to become the cheerleading coach at MacArthur High School, Mrs. Wylie was eager to return to her alma matter and head up the cheerleading program there. While at MacArtur, she taught U.S. History, Dance, and Cheerleading for six years. During her time coaching at MacArthur, the Varsity cheerleaders finished in the top five at UCA nationals in the Small Varsity division (2007 and 2008).
When the district decided to open a new school, Mrs. Wylie was excited to help in starting brand new traditions and begin a cheerleading program at Johnson High School. She has now been teaching at Johnson High School for twelve years. She has taught cheerleading, dance, AP/Dual Credit U.S. History, and grade level U.S. History.
Mrs. Wylie is extremely proud of the success of the Johnson High School Cheerleaders. The Johnson Cheerleaders have worked extremely hard over the years supporting their school and their community and also achieving success at competition. Twice the Varsity squad has placed in the top five at UCA nationals in Large Varsity Division I. The JV competition squad has also accomplished the ranking of top 5 at the UCA national level, including a 2nd place and a 3rd place finish. In 2016, the inaugural year of the UIL Spirit State Championship, the Johnson cheerleaders won the 6A division. They have returned each year and have won the 6A Division I championship all four years since the competition started. Mrs. Wylie is proud to have coached the four time 6A UIL Cheerleading champions (2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019) and is extremely grateful for the standards, the legacy, and the precedence set by all of the cheerleaders who have been a part of the program.
