There is something special about Larkspur Elementary School.
Just ask fifth-grader Alec Izaguirre.
“I love how there are people here who get to know you, and there are people here who support you.”
Alec is this month’s Larkspur Leopard Leader.
It turns out Alec is pretty special too.
He exemplifies leadership by helping pre-K students get to daycare everyday afternoon.
“My teacher told me she needed help getting some kids to daycare. So, I started picking up kids from pre-K and taking them to daycare,” said Alec. “We just talk about our days and make sure they are doing good.”
Alec says helping out is just the way they do things at Larkspur.
Students help out with drop-off and constantly step up when teachers need extra hands to get things done.
It also doesn’t hurt that Alec’s older siblings think it’s pretty cool that he’s such a positive helper at Larkspur.
“It feels good to be a role model; I have never been one before.”
