Welcome to Larkspur Elementary School! I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new principal. With 22 years in education, I bring a wealth of experience and a passion for fostering academic and emotional growth in our students.
My journey in education began in 1993 as a Bilingual Specialist in Austin ISD. I joined North East ISD in 2004, starting at Walzem Elementary. Over the years, I have taught various grades from 1st through 5th, and in 2010, I joined Larkspur Elementary, where I taught 4th grade monolingual self-contained and 5th grade bilingual ELA and science. In 2012, I transitioned to the role of Math Instructional Coach. I hold a master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at San Antonio and served as assistant principal at Larkspur Elementary for five years. I also had the privilege of serving as assistant principal at Encino Park and East Terrell Hills. Most recently, I was the principal at Cibolo Green Elementary since 2021.
I was born and raised in Amarillo, where much of my family still resides. When I am not at school, I enjoy playing tennis, crafting, and spending time with my husband, Andrew, and our two daughters. We love cooking outdoors on the Big Green Egg and gathering with family and friends. We are avid supporters of the Texas Longhorns, UTSA Roadrunners, and Texas Tech Raiders.
I am committed to growing the whole child, both academically and emotionally, especially during these formative elementary years. I believe that the most important person in any classroom is the teacher. When teachers grow in their craft, it leads to greater student achievement. My personal motto is to do right by every child, teacher, parent, and adult you come in contact with every day, as that will mark a good day.
I am looking forward to a wonderful school year ahead and am excited to be part of the Larkspur community.
