Introducing the fabulous Ms. Lakes! Ms. Lakes serves every Huebner Husky with pride, care, and love. Every student feels safe in her classroom, and she fosters a love of music and the arts in every student she comes across. We love our Husky Music teacher! Here is a little more information about Ms. Lakes:
"I received my Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance and my Bachelor of Music Education from Cedarville University, my Master of Music from Belmont University, my Principal Certification from Schreiner University, my Kodaly Certification from Texas State University and my Orff Certification from Trinity University. That's a lot because I LOVE teaching music and learning everything I can to be better at my job! At Huebner, I direct the school Honor Choir and Orffestra (instrument club) for 4th and 5th graders. I also serve as the Lead Elementary Music Coordinator for NEISD, leading our district elementary music teachers in professional development, mentorship and much more. I teach music workshops to other teachers across the state of Texas and the nation and serve on the Organization of American Kodaly Educators national board. I also teach music teachers in the summers in training programs. I love giving back to my profession and helping other music teachers learn how to be great at their job! I have taught at Huebner for over 11 years and a total of 23 years. Huebner is my home, and I can't imagine teaching elementary music anywhere else! Our students, parents and teachers are THE best!"
