Education Pathway at MacUNITED Early College High School
Our Education Pathway is designed around student passion for education and prepares them for careers in teaching, counseling, coaching, leadership, or social work. Through rigorous coursework, hands-on experiences, and mentorship from experienced educators, students begin their journey toward becoming future educators by earning an Associate of Arts in Teaching.
The pathway focuses on elementary education, offering immersive learning experiences through lab schools set up at NEISD elementary campuses. Our district has implemented a pipeline to help MacUNITED teaching graduates secure jobs at NEISD schools after meeting all Texas educational requirements.
Upon completion of the education pathway, students graduate with both a high school diploma and an Associate in Teaching degree, positioning them as competitive candidates for entry-level teaching and coaching positions. They also have the opportunity to obtain the Certified Teacher’s Aid certification, enabling them to work in education while pursuing further studies at a university or beginning their careers immediately after graduating from MacUNITED Early College High School.
