The North East Alternative Center (NEAC) is a specialized 6-12th grade program designed to provide a supportive and structured alternative learning environment for students assigned to a Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAP/DAEP). Each year, NEAC supports over 1,000 students from every middle and high school campus and program within the district.
NEAC focuses on several key areas:
- Social Skills: Helping students build relationships and working well with others.
- Emotional Support: Offering help for students to manage their feelings.
- Behavioral Guidance: Assisting students in understanding and improving their behavior.
- Academic Instruction: Providing quality education to meet student needs.
The primary goal of NEAC is to educate and help students develop the skills needed to return to their home schools successfully. Through these efforts, NEAC aims to create a positive environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
