Ms. Heather Kelley
I am very excited to be teaching Music at Wetmore Elementary School for the tenth year in a row! Wetmore is my favorite elementary school because my daughter, Sarah, went there when she was little. Now, Sarah has graduated from Loyola University in Chicago, where she earned a B.A. degree in Theatre. She is now attending the University of Richmond Law School in Virginia. I am so proud of her!
I earned my B.A. degree in Music (with a minor in Theatre) and my M.A. degree in Teaching, both from the University of the Incarnate Word, right here in San Antonio. Since then, I have taught either Music or Theatre for 19 years at elementary and middle schools. I have also taught as a "regular" teacher in 2nd grade, pre-K, and 4th grade. I love being a Music Teacher!
I have worked as a professional singer and actress around San Antonio, including at the Magik Theatre and The Playhouse San Antonio. I was also a manager at the San Antonio Symphony, and I love playing all kinds of instruments too. The instruments I have played the most are the flute and the piano. Most of all, I love having fun, telling stories, and playing games with children.
