Hello!!  My name is Stephanie Hernandez.  I am so excited about being your child's teacher this school year.  

This marks my 28th year in teaching, with 23 of those years spent at Roan Forest. My teaching journey began with six years in music, including two years in Guthrie, Texas, three years at Olmos Elementary School in NEISD, and one year at Roan Forest. I transitioned to classroom teaching 22 years ago. At Roan Forest, I started as the music teacher when the school opened. Over the years, I have taught 9 years in 4th grade, 3 years in 5th grade, and 9 years in 2nd grade. I'm thrilled to have returned to 4th grade this year.  

I received my bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University in 1995 and my master's degree, also from Texas Tech University, in 2005.  I also received my principal's certification through the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2012.  This past May, I finished the North East Administrative Internship Program.

I am married to my wonderful husband, and we currently live in New Braunfels with our 2 dogs, Rocky and Tucker.  Our son turned 21 on August 4th.  He joined the USAF a year ago, and we are excited that his first duty station is in Abilene, TX.  For at least 3 more years we will have him close to home. 

I love spending time with my family at our ranch in Willow City, TX, traveling, and performing music.  I play the clarinet, piano, and handbells.
