• Manufacturing & Mechanical Engineering

The Manufacturing & Mechanical Engineering Pathway provides students hands-on training in robotics, automation technology, and electromechanical systems, allowing students to gain the necessary skills for the rising fields of robotics engineering, refinery operations, deep ocean exploration, and hazardous waste management.

Our academics prepare students for dynamic careers at the forefront of product development and automation, covering the full lifecycle of manufacturing processes from planning & production control to maintenance & process engineering. The strong foundation in mechanical principles and manufacturing allows SETA graduates to pursue diverse engineering roles across industries by mastering the assembly, operation, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical equipment and devices.

    Curriculum

The foundation of the pathway is engineering coursework that builds a solid knowledge base of engineering principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software. Students then advance to specialized design concentrations like robotics and manufacturing processes where they apply their engineering expertise to conceptualize, construct, and program cutting-edge automated systems and robotic technologies from the ground up. This leads to the opportunity to earn the FANUC Robot Operator I Certification which reflects the mastery of robotic operations and positions SETA students for success in high-tech manufacturing roles. The Manufacturing & Mechanical Engineering course sequence includes:

    Level 1:

    • M3019 - Principles of Applied Engineering *

    • M3021 - Principles of Manufacturing *

    • H8250 - Principles of Applied Engineering

    • H8094 - Robotics I

    Level 2:

    • H8363 - Programmable Logic Controller I

    Level 3:

    • H6768 - Robotics II (Math Cr.)

    Level 4:

    • H8364 - Programmable Logic Controller II

    • H8180 - Practicum in Manufacturing

    * SETA students may take these courses in middle school.
