Join AMP through Admissions and Enrollment
AMP magnet school program is an open enrollment campus that's available to high school students across San Antonio, regardless of school district boundaries. Anyone with an interest in studying one of our multiple pathways of agricultural science or participation in the FFA youth leadership organization is encouraged to apply. With our six available magnet pathways, our admissions and enrollment remain the same for each route that a student selects. However, with over 500 students, space at AMP is limited, so it is recommended to apply promptly.
Potential AMP Students
The Agriscience Magnet Program (AMP) on the Madison High School campus is available to high school students in NEISD and the San Antonio area who have an interest in studying the many areas of agriculture science and participating in the FFA youth leadership organization.
The application period is from October to February for current 8th graders. Interested students may submit an application after February, but will only be considered for enrollment if space is available.
AMP may accept a limited number of enrollments from current 9th or 10th graders by way of transfer from other high schools in North East ISD or surrounding school districts for the school year, dependent upon availability of space.
AMP Magnet Application Process
-
Step One: Complete the NEISD Magnet Application
AMP Requirements and Deadlines
AMP uses a performance-based enrollment process aligned with NEISD Magnet School Program policy. Applicants are evaluated based on:
- Career Interest—Assessed through the NEISD Magnet Common App and Kuder Navigator or CareerHunter career interest tests.
- Academics —Students must have at least a C average in core classes (English, math, science, social studies) based on their transcript.
- State Testing—Students must achieve Approaches, Meets, or Masters on Texas state exams.
- Attendance—Students must have at least 90% satisfactory attendance.
- Conduct—Disciplinary and behavioral history must be satisfactory without major offenses and/or assignment to an alternative educational setting.
- Evaluations—Recommendations from principal, assistant principal, and counselors, may be considered.
-
Step Two: Complete an Online Career Assessment
-
Current NEISD students should complete the Kuder Navigator Assessment, which consists of assessments focused on career interests and skills confidence. Each module takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.
-
Non-NEISD applicants need to complete the Career Interests Test from CareerHunter. Test results need to be emailed to AMP for enrollment evaluation.
Notice of Acceptance
Acceptance notifications are sent in February via email.
If the quantity of applications exceeds program capacity, notification will be sent and students will be placed on a waiting list. As space becomes available, enrollment invitations will be sent to students meeting admission criteria.
