Hello, I am Mrs. Ortiz

I'm thrilled to be a 1st grade teacher at El Dorado Elementary School. It will be a great year full of learning! I am so proud to be part of the NEISD family! I love spending quality time with my family, especially by daughter - Julianna. I always look forward to going home to Weslaco,Texas to visit family. I enjoy running, baking, riding on the Harley, photography, gardening, traveling but most of all spending time with my family.

I earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BBA) with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of Texas-Pan American. After graduating, I continued to work for the Girl Scouts as the Public Relations Director/Product Sales Director until 2004. I then decided to pursue the teaching profession. Therefore, I earned my Texas Educator Certification in early childhood through 4th grade with a TEA recognized alternative accelerated program. I began my first year of teaching with Weslaco ISD in 2004. I taught in both 1st and 2nd grade with WISD. After four years with WISD, I started with NEISD during the 2008-09 school year. I've been here ever since and enjoying every minute with my lovely students!
