Hours: 7:15 AM - 3:45 PM
Every NEISD campus has a Registered Nurse (RN) ready to aide your student. Additionally, Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Clinic Assistants (CAs), supervised by the RN, are at designated campuses.
All students on campus will have a height and weight check at the start of the year during PE class.
Students in PK, K, 1,3,5 will have required screenings for hearing and vision. Letters will be mailed home based on the RN's initial findings.
1st, 3rd, and 5th graders will be screened for acanthosis nigricans. This is a pre-diabetes indicator, and you will receive a letter in the mail if a referral is necessary based on the RN's initial findings.
3rd grade will recieve dental screening in the 1st and 2nd semesters. This is optional and families may send form to opt out of the treatment.
If you do NOT want your child to be screened, you must send written request to decline screenings.
