Welcome to David Lee "Tex" Hill Middle School, a campus rooted in Excellence, and driven by Innovation. As the newest Middle School of NEISD, Tex Hill prides ourselves in being the leader of positive change and we encourage every student to explore their own pathway to success beyond their middle school experience. Like many Tigers before you, we encourage you to seize all of the wonderful opportunities that Tex Hill Middle School has to offer for your academic and personal growth.

Education Approach
At Tex Hill Middle School, your child has the opportunity to excel academically and socially while exploring extracurricular activities to find their passion. Your child has the guidance and support to pursue their passions in a variety of programs, organizations, and clubs – from Athletics to Band, Dance, PALS, Journalism & Campus News, UIL, Robotics, and more. Tex Hill is proud to offer 8 different courses to earn high school credit to 7th and 8th graders.

Every year students and staff gather to cheer on and “Send Off” Special Education students to the Special Olympics.

An Honor Flight is conducted by non-profit organizations dedicated to transporting as many United States military veterans as possible to see the memorials of the respective war they fought in Washington, DC, at no cost to the veterans and Tex Hill hosts a veteran every year.

A unique bridge connecting the academic building to the electives building. Floor to ceiling windows line the hallways with a great view of the landscapes surrounding Tex Hill.

Teachers and students have a variety of spaces to meet and collaborate.

A conference room is held in each grade level pod. Floor to ceiling windows allow others passing by to view into the meeting being held.

Tex Hill was awarded the prestigious Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) award in 2015. LEED is an ecology-oriented building certification program run under the auspices of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

There are only 6 Foucault Pendulums in Texas and Tex Hill Middle School has one.

Our Cluster
Welcome to the Johnson Cluster in the North East Independent School District. As a Hill Middle School School student, your child will establish a passion, curiosity, and foundation for life-long learning while nurturing their social and emotional skills. Outside of the classroom, your child can embrace what they love or try something new through diverse clubs, programs and organizations.
Your child will discover even more opportunities at Tejeda and Tex Hill Middle School. As their academic foundation expands in the classroom, their circle of friends and experiences will grow through new opportunities in Athletics, Fine Arts, Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, competitive UIL contests, and more.
At Johnson High School, your child will excel academically and socially while embracing beloved Jaguar traditions with memories that will last a lifetime. Your child has the freedom and support to pursue their passions in a variety of nationally recognized programs, organizations, and clubs – from Athletics to JROTC, Band, Dance, PALS, Photography, UIL, and much more.
