      Dr. Paul Kienlen

      Paul M. Kienlen is the Principal at the Pre-K Academy at West Avenue, opening in August 2019. He has worked in the field of education for 22 years. Most recently, he was an Assistant Center Director with Pre-K 4 SA, having worked at both the West and East centers. He worked previously in North East ISD as the Assistant Principal at Steubing Ranch Elementary and Walzem Elementary. Prior to his service with NEISD, he helped to facilitate the implementation of the dual language program at four campuses in Northside ISD. His experience as a bilingual and dual language classroom teacher began in El Paso, Texas in 1997. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN. His Master’s Degree in Educational Management and Development was granted at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. He completed the doctoral program in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at UTSA in 2021. He is married with four children. He is fluently bilingual in Spanish and English.

      Mrs. Jessica Riley

      Jessica Riley is the Assistant Principal for the Pre-K Academy at West Avenue. She has spent the last 11 years of her career in education, 9 which have been with North East ISD. Most recently, she was the Bilingual Math Instructional Coach at Jackson-Keller Elementary. Prior to her being an instructional coach, she spent 10 years as a bilingual and dual language classroom teacher.

      She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX. Jessica then received her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at Concordia University in Austin, TX.

      She is a product of North East ISD and thrilled to be returning to the West Avenue campus where she attended elementary school. She is married with a son and daughter. Jessica’s daily efforts will focus on serving the students and community as well as ensuring student safety and academic achievement.

      Duties and Responsibilities

      Title IX Coordinator & Campus Behavior Coordinator

      Pre-K Academy's Title IX Coordinator/Campus Behavior Coordinator is primarily responsible for maintaining student discipline and the implementation of this subchapter and for responding to all complaints of possible sex discrimination and coordinating proper responses to complaints.
