• Our Curriculum

Each day, the Pre-K Academy nurtures your child’s natural gifts and talents while your 3-4 year-old learns, plays and discovers. The Pre-K Academy is NOT a babysitting or day care service. The school and the lessons are uniquely designed for your 3-4 year-old’s curious mind, growing body and boundless energy.

    Unique Opportunities at Our Campus

  • The NEISD Pre-K program curriculum is based on the Texas Pre-K Guidelines (available in English, Spanish and Vietnamese) and emphasizes conceptual learning through participation in meaningful, relevant experiences and curriculum based play.

At the Pre-K Academy at West Avenue there will be a special curriculum focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) through project based learning.

The Pre-K Academy's Curriculum is organized into 10 skill domains that support the integration of curriculum-based play and build connections between and among all disciplines.

  • Dual Language Program

The Dual Language Program Model in NEISD is an enriched education program that provides instruction for native English speakers and native Spanish speakers in both languages. When possible, classes will be comprised of half native English speakers and half native Spanish speakers. The building of classes is dependent on the number of English Language Learners (Spanish dominant) students enrolled in that grade level. English Language Learner students are identified by mandated state assessments.

English as a Second Language Program

The Newcomer Program provides a safe and scaffolded learning environment where diversity is valued in transitioning students to meet high expectations for language acquisition, academic achievement, and responsible citizenship.

The NEISD Newcomer program is for recent arrival of refugees or asylees. This program provides the support of a safe learning environment in order for the students to begin acclimating to U.S. schools. The newcomer program assists students by providing linguistic, cognitive, and academic needs while holding high standards. The students will participate in the program for no more than 2 years as it depends on an individual student basis.

  • Unique Opportunities in Our Clusters

Welcome to the LEE Cluster in the North East Independent School District. As a Pre-K Academy School student, your child will establish a passion, curiosity, and foundation for life-long learning while nurturing their social and emotional skills. Outside of the classroom, your child can embrace what they love or try something new through diverse clubs, programs and organizations.

Students from the Pre-K Academy will attend one of the NEISD elementary schools before moving on to middle school.

Your child will discover even more opportunities at Nimitz and Jackson Middle School. As their academic foundation expands in the classroom, their circle of friends and experiences will grow through new opportunities in Athletics, Fine Arts, Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, competitive UIL contests, and more. The STEM Academy Middle School magnet is located at Nimitz. In this program, students forge a foundation for future careers in biomedical sciences, engineering, and technology fields.

At Legacy of Educational Excellence (LEE) High School, your child will excel academically and socially while embracing beloved Volunteer traditions with memories that will last a lifetime. Your child has the freedom and support to pursue their passions in a variety of nationally recognized programs, organizations, and clubs – from Athletics to JROTC, Band, Dance, PALS, Photography, UIL, and much more.

LEE High School is home to the International School of the Americas (ISA), the STEM Academy High School, and the North East School of the Arts (NESA). ISA focuses on project-based learning that tackles global issues while NESA paves the way for students interested in theatre, filmmaking, writing, art, and dance. The STEM Academy offers problem-based, technology-rich curriculum for students wanting to continue their study of science, technology, engineering, and math after graduation.

There’s so much to discover in the LEE cluster. Thank you for choosing NEISD.
