Welcome to 3rd grade. A few items to note about our class: 

*We are in a portable with the closest restroom being in the building. Students will use a pass to get into the building.  No more than 2 students at a time can leave the room.  They are also required to sign out and back in when they return.  

*Students are allowed to have water with them as long as it has a lid. They are free to take it out to recess and PE. Students can have a snack in the morning anytime after 9:00am. 

*There is no official homework other than to read at night. There may be an occasional activity for extra credit or a challenge sent home. 

*Official communication is through Class Tag.  There is an app and website that you can use. I will post class information here and updates are usually posted about once a week. This is the easiest way to get in touch with me or Ms. Martinez. 

*In the spring, students will take the STAAR test in Math and Reading. It will be online and not paper. As it gets closer, there will be information sent home about resources to help practice. 

*Third grade is a departmentalized grade level. What this means is that Students will have Social Studies, Reading, Phonics and Language Arts with me as their homeroom. In the afternoon, they will switch to Ms. Martinez and they will receive their Math and Science instruction. She also takes the class to recess.
