Am I Your Pre-K Teacher This Year?
If so, I am so excited to meet you!
Check out this video and let me read a story to you on the night before school.
Welcome Bobcats
Hello, families!
I’m Mrs. Balderas, and I am so excited to begin another joyful, adventure-filled school year in Pre-K.
I’m a proud graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, where I earned my degree in Elementary Education (Early Childhood through 6th Grade) in 2015. I also hold an English as a Second Language (ESL) certification for Early Childhood through 8th Grade.
Over the years, I’ve taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 3rd Grade, but my heart truly belongs in Pre-K.
In 2024, I was honored to be named Stone Oak’s Teacher of the Year and recognized as a Top 3 District Finalist for Teacher of the Year. Teaching is more than my profession—it’s my passion. This year marks my 11th year in education, and I can’t wait to learn and grow alongside your amazing children. Let’s make it a wonderful year together!
About Me
I was born in Fort Worth, Texas, but I had the opportunity to live in many different places growing up thanks to my dad’s service in the U.S. Air Force. These experiences taught me to appreciate new adventures and the importance of connection—values I bring into our classroom every day.
My 6th-grade teacher inspired my path into education. He helped me realize that learning should be personal, engaging, and full of possibility—and that’s the kind of learning environment I strive to create for every child.
Life Outside the Classroom
In 2018, my husband and I welcomed our son Colt, who brings so much fun and joy into our lives. As a family, we love hiking, exploring nature, and finding new parks to visit. We also enjoy football, playing in fantasy leagues, reading together, and boating when we can.
We share our home with our dog Sheldon, who keeps us on our toes. We also carry warm memories of our beloved dog Bartlebee, who will always hold a special place in our hearts.
When I have a little time to myself, I enjoy painting, reading, and relaxing with a cold Topo Chico—my favorite sparkling water—especially after a good hike!
Why Pre-K Matters
I believe early childhood should be filled with wonder, discovery, and joy. In our classroom, we focus on building strong, loving relationships first—because from that, all learning grows.
I’m here to support your child’s academic, social, and emotional development every step of the way. Thank you for trusting me with this special part of their journey. I’m so glad you’re here!
