Mrs. Hernandez
Hi!! My name is Stephanie Hernandez. I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year.
This is my 27th year teaching, and my 22nd at Roan Forest. I began my career by teaching music for 6 years (2 years in Guthrie, Texas, 3 years at Olmos Elementary School (NEISD) and 1 year at Roan Forest) before moving into the classroom 19 years ago. In my 20 years at Roan Forest, I opened Roan Forest as the music teacher. I have spent 8 years in 4th grade, and 3 years in 5th grade. I have also taught 2nd grade here for 9 years, and I am excited about starting my 9th year back in 4th grade.
I received my bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University in 1995 and my master's degree, also from Texas Tech University, in 2005. I also received my principal's certification through the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2012. I will be starting the North East Administrative Intern Program this school year. I am excited to embark on a new adventure.
For 18 years, I was known at Roan Forest as Ms. Eickman, but 4 years ago I became Mrs. Hernandez when I married my wonderful husband, Pete. We currently live in New Braunfels, TX. I officially adopted my step-son, Seth, in June of this year. He turned 20 in August and left for Air Force Basic training on Aug. 14th.
I love spending time with my family at our ranch in Willow City, TX, traveling, and performing music. I play the clarinet, piano, and handbells.
I look forward to a wonderful 2023-2024 school year as your child's teacher!
