Hi!! My name is Stephanie Hernandez. I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year.
This is my 26th year teaching, and my 21st at Roan Forest. I began my career by teaching music for 6 years (2 years in Guthrie, Texas, 3 years at Olmos Elementary School (NEISD) and 1 year at Roan Forest) before moving into the classroom 19 years ago. In my 20 years at Roan Forest, I opened the school as the music teacher, I have spent 8 years in 4th grade, and 3 years in 5th grade. I have also taught 2nd grade here for 8 years, and I am excited to start my 9th year as a 2nd grade teacher.
I received my bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University in 1995 and my master's degree, also from Texas Tech University, in 2005. I also received my principal's certification through the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2012.
For 18 years, I was known as Ms. Eickman, but 3 years ago I became Mrs. Hernandez when I married my wonderful husband Pete. We currently live in New Braunfels, TX with our 19 year old son who will be starting Texas State this fall and is currently a tour guide at Natural Bridge Caverns.
I love spending time with my family at our ranch in Willow City, TX, traveling, and performing music. I play the clarinet, piano, and handbells.
I look forward to a wonderful 2022-2023 school year as your child's teacher!
