Hi! My name is Mrs. Castillo. I am a first grade Dual Language teacher here at Stone Oak Elementary. I was born and raised in Brownsville, and I am the oldest of two!  I graduated from the University of Texas at Brownsville with a Bachelor in Interdisciplinary Studies as a Bilingual Generalist EC- 6th grade.  I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the beach, and love doing yoga! I am not only a teacher but also a professional baker. I graduated in 2011 from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Austin, Texas as a Pastry Chef. This will be my 8th year teaching, 2 years of teaching kindergarten and 6 years of teaching first grade. Most Importantly, I’m so excited to be your child’s 1st grade teacher this year and to have them be part of my SUPER AWESOME class!  I know we will make this school year the best ever!

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Sra. Castillo. Soy maestra de idioma dual de primer grado aquí en la primaria Stone Oak. Nací y crecí en Brownsville, y soy la mayor de dos. Me gradué de
la Universidad de Texas en Brownsville con una Licenciatura en Estudios Interdisciplinarios como Generalista Bilingüe EC-6to grado. ¡Disfruto pasar tiempo con mi familia, ir a
la playa y me encanta ir a clases de yoga! No solo soy profesora, sino también repostera profesional. Me gradué en el 2011 de
la Facultad de Artes Culinarias Le Cordon Bleu en Austin, Texas, como chef de repostería.
Este será mi octavo año de enseñanza, 2 años en kinder y 6 años en primer grado.  Lo más importante es que estoy muy emocionada
de ser la maestra de primer grado de su hijo/a este año y de que sea parte de mi clase SÚPER FABULOSA. ¡Sé que haremos de este año escolar el mejor de todos!
