Welcome to 5th Grade!

My name is Michelle Sowa, and I am thrilled to be returning full-time as a classroom teacher.  I am certified as a generalist (1-8) grade teacher, specializing in Reading.  I obtained my ESL and Special Education supplements in my first years of teaching.  In 2011, I completed my Master’s Degree and became certified as an administrator.  

In our classroom, I aim to create a nurturing and engaging environment where students feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. My teaching philosophy fosters learning band celebrates each child's strengths. I believe in the importance of open communication between home and school, and I am here to support you and your child throughout the year.

I develop a classroom setting that encourages social and emotional growth over time.  We talk about how everyone is struggling with something and the great part about being in a community is that we can provide empathy and support so that you are reminded you are not alone.  

I am ecstatic to be a part of the CHE family. I look forward to working together with you as partners this year.
