Degrees and Certifications:

B.S. Interdisciplinary Studies

Lydia Vasquez

I received my bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University (in the ancient days, it was known as "Southwest Texas State").  I began teaching in 1998 and have loved every year.  Each year brings excitement and wonder as I watch students grow as readers, writers, and mathematicians.

This will be my 13th year at Harmony Hills and 23nd year of teaching. I have taught grades 1 through 5.  My very first teaching job was 2nd grade, though it was only a semester. I am looking forward to learning and growing with my students.

My husband is a fifth grade teacher in BISD and I have three children.  My oldest, a daughter, is a junior at the University of North Texas.  My middle child, a daughter, is a sophomore attending San Antonio College.  My youngest, a son, is a sophomore at Madison.  Like both sisters before him, he chose to enter the Ag program.

I am an avid reader and love to travel.  Our longest family road trip was a 19-day trip across the southeastern United States. My husband is an avid barbecue fan and will drive hours just to try the best BBQ in Texas.
