    Every NEISD campus has a Registered Nurse (RN) ready to aide your student. Additionally, Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Clinic Assistants (CAs), supervised by the RN, are at designated campuses.

  • Medications on Campus

    All medications must be brought to the clinic by an adult. Children are not allowed to carry any medications to school – this includes cough drops

    Helpful Hints

    Please remember to pack a change of clothes in your child’s backpack. Children of all ages have various accidents requiring them to change clothes during the day.Also, remember to replace clothing when the seasons change.

    Keeping your child home/going home sick

    Children with fever cannot be in school. If your child develops a fever of 100.0 or greater at school you will be called to take them home. NEISD requires students with fever be excluded from school until fever free for 24 hours, without the use of fever reducing medications.

    • Acanthosis Nigricians screening for 1st, 3rd and 5th graders
    • Dental screening for 3rd grade
    • Scoliosis screenings for 5th grade girls

    School nurses are a primary resource in recognizing and managing children´s health problems. School nurses have the professional education and expertise to function successfully in the separate complete systems of education and health care. NEISD school nurses are committed to each child´s individual development and safety.
