Welcome to a new school year, 2023-2024.   My name is Mrs. Sylvia Sandoval and I am very excited to be teaching third grade at Harmony Hills Elementary!  I am looking forward to meeting all of my new friends and am super excited about the new journey [departmentalizing] we are about to experience together.  It is going to be an awesome adventure!!  We will be learning lots of new things, and growing as readers, writers, scientists, mathematicians, etc. 

Departmentalizing will be new to our students this school year.  As we transition into third grade, each third-grade teacher will teach one/two  content areas to all of our third graders, we will be on a rotation schedule, and more information will be coming during Open House. 

Teaching is my passion, in which  I enjoy helping students become excited about their learning, engage, explore, and discover their new environment and excel in their academics.  One of the greatest rewards of teaching is seeing the progress of your students. From when students understand a difficult concept, to helping children learn a new skill, seeing a child's eyes light up after grasping a new piece of knowledge is priceless. In addition,  I  will instill the love of learning in students, so that they will always have a desire to grow and develop as future leaders of this 21st century.
