Welcome to Newcomers 3rd-5th Grade!

I graduated from UTSA in 2001 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Communication. I received my alternative teaching certificate in 2004 as a 4-8 Generalist, following the completion of Region 20's alternative teaching program. I began my career in Northside where I taught for eight years. During that time, I earned my Masters in Educational Administration from Concordia University in 2009 and principal certification. After leaving NISD, I taught for two years in Colorado Springs before returning to Texas. Since returning, I have been with NEISD, teaching two years at Jackson Middle School, six years at Nimitz Middle School, and now starting my first year teaching elementary at Camelot.

I am excited about teaching Newcomer students and exploring all the talents and possibilities that await them. I know they have so much to contribute to our community, and I look forward to advocating for them and bringing experiences to them that will help them to feel comfortable in their new country.
