Mrs. Wilma Payne
My name is Wilma Payne and I am the proud Principal of Camelot Elementary School. I have had the pleasure of being the principal since the start of the 2010 school year. I have also had the opportunity to be a teacher here at Camelot for eleven years.
I am a graduate of Highlands High School in SAISD. I attended The University of Texas at Austin for my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Following graduation, I worked in Alief ISD, in Houston, for my first two years of teaching in 3rd grade. I came to NEISD in 1995 and taught here at Camelot 4th and 5th grades for 11 years. I have 13 years of teaching experience in total. I enjoy seeing my students from when I was a teacher and working with their children!
I earned my master’s degree in Educational Leadership at The University of Texas at San Antonio and became an assistant principal at Stahl Elementary for four years after which I became principal of Camelot Elementary School.
I am married and a mother of two with a daughter and son. Both of my children are in education. My daughter is an assistant principal, and my son is a teacher. I have three grandchildren that I refer to as my heart! They are 4,6 and 10 years old.
I love being a principal! I enjoy helping shape the lives of young children and being a positive role model for them. I work hard to make sure that the education they get not only fills their minds, but also builds their character. I love that my teachers and staff have the same philosophy and work hard to build a whole child. I look forward to continued years as a Camelot Knight and serving this community.

Shara Wade
My name is Shara Wade and I’m excited to be your new Assistant Principal! I’ve been an educator for 17 years and I bring with me 5 years of administrative experience including 3 years as an Assistant Principal. In 2005, I graduated from Grambling State University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. After teaching elementary for a few years, I earned a master's degree in Gifted Education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock followed by an educational specialist degree in Administration from Arkansas State University.
I was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas and my family relocated to Texas last year. My husband, Dr. Gourjoine Wade, is Vice President of Student Affairs at Texas Lutheran University, and we have two amazing daughters. One is a Freshman at the LEE’s High School's Northeast School of Performing Arts (NESA) and the other a 4th grader here at Camelot.
I became an educator in order to change the trajectory of students' lives in the same way some amazing teachers helped me. I love being an educator and my goal is to continue strengthening the bond between our school and community. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you as we work together to help students become the best version of themselves.
