Mrs. Antoinique Charles
I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Antoinique Charles and I have the honor of being your child's fourth grade teacher. I am very excited about working with your child this year. My home town is New Orleans, Louisiana. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I am certified in the states of Louisiana and Texas. I have taught 2nd through 4th grade levels, and am always excited by a new school year. My experience has been in Louisiana, which I taught there for four and a half years. I also had the opportunity to teach in Yokosuka, Japan for about a year and a half. There I had the honor in teaching our military families' students. I began teaching at Camelot Elementary in February, 2016 as a 2nd grade teacher.
I am also an Assistant Cheerleading Coach, here at Camelot. I enjoy cheering and having school pride. I started the cheer team with Ms. Saenz, during the 2018-2019 school year. The team supports the students and staff during Friday Synergy assemblies, Fiesta week, and during the STAAR Pep Rally.
My philosophy for learning is that each child is unique, and each child learns in a different way. I believe in hands-on experiences, learning creatively, and learning through play. It is my goal to create a community of learners who are committed to working hard and having fun. I want students to leave my classroom feeling confident that they can apply what they've learned in school to real-life situations. I want my students to feel challenged and to have an enhanced passion for learning.
