What is CTEC?
CTEC is a magnet school program from NEISD that provides job education and career certifications for students interested in Diesel Technology, Construction/Carpentry, Electrical Systems, HVAC, Plumbing, Welding or as a Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nurse Aide, Dental Assistant, Medical Assistant, and Pharmacy Technician.

What is the mission of CTEC?
Our mission is to provide all students the opportunity to become college and career ready by creating instructional settings that replicate real-world experiences, knowledge and skills.

Who can apply to CTEC?
CTEC is available to all students enrolled at an NEISD high school.

What is the Construction Technology Academy at CTEC?
The Construction Technology Academy offers students five educational pathways: construction/carpentry, electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and welding, allowing them to acquire the required career skills and certifications for their respective fields.

What is the Medical Professions Academy at CTEC?
The Medical Professions Academy offers students five educational pathways related to the health industry: EMT, CNA, pharmacy technician, dental assistant, and medical assistant. These programs teach the necessary job skills and provide career certifications for their chosen fields.

What is the Transportation Technology Academy at CTEC?
The Transportation Technology Academy offers two educational pathways—automotive and diesel programs—to educate students on systems and components, enabling them to learn maintenance, repair, and safety skills.

Does CTEC offer career certifications?
CTEC offers industry-recognized certifications in every program. Students who complete all program requirements can take a certification test at no cost. These certifications provide the opportunity to enter the workforce at an entry-level position.

When are CTEC classes offered?
CTEC offers classes three times each school day, allowing students to fit their future into their current schedules.

Is transportation provided between CTEC and high school campuses?
Transportation is provided for students; however, early and late classes at CTEC require students to arrange their own transportation due to bus schedules. Students may also choose to use their own transportation methods at any time.

Can CTEC students participate in clubs & competitions?
Students at CTEC can participate in the SkillsUSA organization and the HOSA program.
