Camree Jones

Welcome to 4th grade! My name is Ms. Jones. This is my second year teaching and I couldn’t be more excited! I grew up in Denton, TX and attended Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, TX. I recently moved to San Antonio! I am very excited for this school year and am looking forward to building relationships, working and learning with you!

My belief in teaching is that students learn in environments they are most comfortable in. Students excel when they are able to have some kind of control over their learning. As an educator, I want to inspire my students to learn every day to further their learning. I want them to have a passion for learning. In the classroom, I will provide lessons that encourage students to explore ideas, be hands-on, independently work, and work in groups. I will incorporate technology in the classroom in order for students to express their understanding of knowledge on various amounts of digital platforms. I will educate students using collaborations, communication, critical thinking, creativity. I will incorporate breakout groups and open-ended assignments. I will model flipped classrooms and work will fellow educators for new teaching techniques. I will have open communication between my students and I as well as their parents. I will provide a variety of ways for students to access me or classroom knowledge through Google resources.

My ideas of teaching have gradually changed every time I am in a new classroom with new students. I learn more learning styles. I learn new ways to teach and provide activities for my students that inspire and excite them to learn. The goals I have for the students in my class is for them to have an opportunity for open communication with the students, always be a helping hand for the students, incorporate active movement as often as I can, and keep the students eager and engaged in the classroom I will provide assessments that allow getting immediate feedback so I am able to differentiate learning. I will be able to reteach students and clear up any misconceptions before teaching them a new concept. One way I stay current on teaching methods is relying on my professional learning network through Twitter.

All children are unique and all their learning abilities are different. My job as the teacher to reach and teach for every learning ability and style. I have only the highest expectation for my students because I believe all students will be able to achieve every goal they set. I will create a classroom that is safe, caring, and positive. An environment where students will be able to express themselves appropriately, grow and expand their minds. Parents and teachers can be the biggest impact on a child’s life. For that reason, being an educator I want to impact my students in a positive matter that they can remember forever. Children are the future and I like the idea of having a direct impact on something so important. Students spend the majority of their childhoods at school and having a good teacher can make all the difference in their lives. I want to be that person for them.
