• This is my 14th year teaching in NEISD. My first 4 years was as a middle school math and science teacher. This is my 10th year as an elementary Gifted and Talented (G/T) Kindergarten - 5th grade teacher and my 9th year at Olmos Elementary.

I have my Texas Educator Certifications as an EC-6th grade Elementary Generalist, as a 4th-8th grade Secondary Generalist, and in 4th-8th grade Secondary Mathematics. In addition, I have training and certification in Pre-AP Math, Pre-AP Science, and Gifted and Talented elementary and secondary education (Kinder-12th grade).

The 2021-2022 school year will be my first year as a NEISD Inspiring Innovator working directly with our campus ITS to create and share innovative technology projects in the classroom. This school year is my second year serving as an Ambassador in the NEISD Arts Integration Cohort working with the Tobin Arts Center to demonstrate and share creative ways to integrate the arts within the content area in the classroom.

From 2019-2021, I was an elected staff member of NEISD's District Educational Improvement Committee. I am honored to have represented Olmos Elementary as the NEISD 2018 Trinity Prize for Excellence in Teaching Award Recipient. In addition, I was privileged to be the 2016 NEISD Teacher of the Year for Olmos Elementary. I am also proud to be a lifetime receipient of the Texas PTA Honorary Life Membership Award. Additionally, I am humbled to have been selected for four consecutive years as a North East Educational Foundation (NEEF) grant recipient for 2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. I also had the unique opportunity to be chosen as the NEEF recipient guest speaker at the 2019 North East Educational Foundation (NEEF) Gala.

I have been the robotics coach at Olmos Elementary since 2014 and our award-winning VEX (formerly FLL) Robotics' teams continue to excel every year! I am also the sponsor for two coding clubs, the Girls Who Code and the Techno-OWLS, and each year both of our coding clubs are at capacity! In addition, I have co-sponsored the Olmos' Dance Club with our Olmos' music teacher since 2013 and our dance club members continually shine each year at our school performances!

I've been married to my wonderfully supportive husband for 26 years. I am a NEISD K-12 Honor graduate, as well as both of our two children. Our son is now a full-time Cyber Security Automation & Orchestration Analyst and Bank Officer at a Forbes 500 American bank holding company. He was a UTSA Distinguished Presidential Scholar in the College of Business and majored in Cyber Security and Information Systems. Our daughter is now a full-time Apparel Designer at a leading, global retailer specializing in apparel and accessories. She was a UT-Austin Dean's Honored Graduate in the College of Natural Sciences and majored in Textile and Apparel. We are extremely proud of both of their accomplishments!
